What is MDNY?

Established in 2006, Master Drawings New York (MDNY) is the premier art fair for exhibiting and celebrating exceptional works on paper in the United States. During the week of MDNY, an international selection of exhibitors showcase their highest quality artwork in more than two dozen galleries on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. MDNY's exhibiting galleries feature exceptional and rare works on paper from the 15th to the 21st centuries, as well as paintings, sculpture, and photography. 

When is MDNY 2027?

Dates for MDNY 2027 are 29 January - 6 February, 2027.

What are the opening hours?

MDNY exhibitor galleries are open 11AM-6PM daily (Monday - Saturday) and 1PM-5PM on Sunday during the week of the fair.

Where is MDNY? Is it in a central location?

MDNY is held in more than two dozen galleries on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Visitors are encouraged to take a walking tour of the participating galleries and exhibitions. Exhibitor locations can be found in our map.

How do I attend MDNY? Do I need a ticket?

Master Drawings New York galleries are open to the public during the week of MDNY and tickets are not required for entry to the galleries.

Are there events associated with MDNY?

Yes! MDNY partners with The Drawing Foundation (TDF) to organize a series of exciting events, from behind-the-scenes tours to lectures and workshops, during the week of MDNY. The calendar of events and details can be found on our Partnerships and Events page.

Please note that, though tickets are not required for entry to MDNY galleries, many MDNY/TDF events are limited in space and require visitors to reserve a ticket. Tickets can be reserved via the event listings on The Drawing Foundation's website.
